The Haunting Souvenir
A Belgian tourist stole a two-pound stone from the Clava
of rocks, but later felt the bad luck he soon experienced was due to the
stone. He mailed the rock anonymously, with an accompanying letter, back
to the Inverness Tourist Information Centre around early January 2000.
He had lost his employment, his wife had taken sick and his daughter had
fractured her leg. The Clava Cairs site, which is approximately 4000
years old, is one of the most mysterious in Scotland. Afraid of its
apparent power, the tourist wanted the stone put back where it
originally had been.
